Hi I'm Kevin

I live in the Chicago area. I enjoy outdoors, fishing, sports and music. I’m a husband, father, grandfather, and I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Product Manager for a major commercial airline. I enjoy music, the outdoors, fishing and being with my family. I am married to my best friend and together we raised two boys, three girls and one foster daughter. I served a two year mission for the Mormon Church in El Salvador. Four of our children have also served missions. I enjoy traveling and experiencing other cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but I had to obtain my own convictions and testimony of the church and its truthfulness. As a young teenager I began to read the Book of Mormon and as I completed it for the first time I prayed to Heavenly Father and asked him if it was a true book. I received a strong confirmation of the spirit that it was true. From that time forth I have cherished its teachings. Throughout my life I have felt the influence of the holy spirit as I have continued to read from the scriptures. I am a Mormon because I chose to follow the truth that has been revealed to me.

How I live my faith

As a Mormon I have had many opportunities to serve in the church. Currently I serve as the Ward Mission Leader. This means I help the full-time missionaries become successful. Together we serve our fiends and members of the church by visiting them and lending aid where needed. I have also served as an ecclesiastical leader of the young single adults ages 18 to 30. Some of my most memorable years in the church have been spent in leadership positions with the youth.

Are Mormons Christians?

Kevin
Yes. We believe that the Mormon Church today is the same church that was established anciently by Jesus Christ. Because this is his church he restored it to the earth in modern times. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ that we study, preach and strive to follow. We also believe that Christ continues to reveal truths of his gospel today. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Kevin
A testimony to the Mormons is simply a statement of what we know to be true. A testimony is our own personal conviction of why we believe the church is true. It is based largely in our faith to believe through the spiritual experiences we have had throughout our lives. A strong testimony can help us stay true to our convictions about the gospel of Jesus Christ even when our faith is tested or in times of personal trial or hardship. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Kevin
The only true source all truth and light comes from our Heavenly Father. He communicates the knowledge of truth to each of us through the Holy Ghost. To know if Mormonism is true is you must first study and ponder the teachings of the gospel in the Bible and Book of Mormon. Then if you pray to Heavenly Father and ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will reveal the truth unto you. And then you will know in your heart that this is his true and restored church on the earth today. Show more Show less
