Hi I'm Tenille

I am a wife, a mom, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of two boys and hopefully some more along the way. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences in hopes of becoming a Professional Mom who could answer all her kids questions in every subject. I rarely look professional, and can occasionally answer my kids questions. But my degree helped me develop a love of learning - so now my kids and I look for answers together. I still haven't given up on my dream of learning to tap dance, but most of my time and effort is spent on maintaining and strengthening my little family.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is full of things that aren't fair, and hard to understand. An understanding that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, and is always aware of me, gives me hope. When I study the scriptures, ponder them, and pray to my Heavenly Father - I come to understand or at least accept the struggles of life. I also find great comfort in knowing that I lived with my Heavenly Father before I came here and, that by working to become better while also relying on Jesus Christ's atonement, I can return to live with my Heavenly Father and my family forever.

How I live my faith

Each morning I seek my Heavenly Father's guidance. Then I get to work to teach my children right from wrong and look for ways to serve others along the way. I don't always receive guidance, and I don't always follow the guidance I do receive or the things that I have learned previously. But when I humble myself and ask for God's forgiveness, I find strength to overcome my weaknesses as well as a greater ability to help others.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Tenille
I believe that Heavenly Father loves His children, and because of that He always wants to communicate with us. Everyone can pray to God and receive guidance for their own lives. But in order to keep doctrine pure, and administer the ordinances of salvation (like baptism) correctly, we need a prophet to receive guidance for the whole world. Moses did this in his time, as did many other prophets in their time. Sometimes, because of wickedness, God took away His prophets. But when there are enough righteous people on the earth, He calls a prophet and restores His church. Christ spent His life correcting doctrine and reorganizing His church, and called Peter as a prophet. But it didn't take long for people to kill the prophet and apostles, and purity of the doctrine was lost. If people in the past had prophets, why not today? I believe that there is a prophet today, because I know that Heavenly Father loves me. When I listen to President Thomas S. Monson I feel my Heavenly Father's love, and I pray about the things I am taught. Heavenly Father gives me a personal witness of their truth. I believe President Monson is just as much of a prophet as Moses, Abraham and Isaiah. Show more Show less
