Hi I'm Stanley James THOMAS

! was born In Manchetser In 1938, I was baptised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I was brought up a Salvationist, I left home and Joined the Royal Marines School of Music at the age of 14. I was confirmed into the Church of England at the age of 23, I searched many relegions until by conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1998. I have been married Twice and have seven Children. When I left the Royal Marines In 1978 age 40 I became a security Officer and worked until I was 70. I am now fully retired and My wife retires in June 2013we Hav one child stil living with us Ryan Brent who is 23, and a grand son Aarron who is 18.

Why I am a Mormon

I was approached 3 Times by missionaries, 1st in 1971 whilst serving in the Royal Marines, when I was posted there was no Branch or ward at me new location. 2nd I was visited by 2 Sister Missionaries in 1995, they came to see me twice and I never saw them again (I assume they must have moved to another district), and the 3rd and last time when I was visited by 2 young male missionaries in 1997. I soon knew in my Heart that Joseph Smith was a Prophet Of God, and my whole family were Baptised and confirmed members 6 weeks later.

How I live my faith

Since Joining the church I have been very active, and have held the following callings:- Ward Mission Leader, 2nd Councilor on the Stake Mission Presidency, Elders Quarum President, High Councililor, 2nd councilor on the Bishopric, 1st Councilor on the Bishopric, Ward Mission Leader, Ward Genaeology Consultant, Genaeolgy Support Missionary. and at present I am assigned as the Stake Prison Visitor.
