Hi I'm Eboni

About Me

I'm a 29 year old girl who loves to work hard and play hard. I'm into martial arts and crafty things that I don't often admit I'm into. (knitting, sewing, etc) I currently work in the Real Estate industry and love it. I just moved to Colorado and am looking forward to experiencing all things snowy!

Why I am a Mormon

It's such a simple answer but also very complicated. The simple answer is this: because we have a loving Heavenly Father who showed me the truth of the Gospel of Christ. The tiny bit longer answer: Everything I had heard about the church prior to taking the time to learn from the source was negative. After my first encounter with the missionaries I went online and read things, ordered books from people who professed to know so much about the church, and got a ton of information. I thought I knew so much and was ready to attack the missionaries' arguments. Well boy was I in for a surprise. Not only was everything I had learned about the church from outside sources wrong, it was completely laughable. I realized that the LDS faith was essentially what I believed already, but that I had allowed myself to be convinced that the church was so incredibly different. I also learned that you can't argue Christ. When I took the time to learn about the church from the source, instead of trying to learn about it from people who don't know the church themselves, God was able to show me the truth, instead of me trying to find it in arguments and negative texts. I am Mormon because I choose to follow Christ, and He, through the church, has established the most perfect way for me to do so.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily by being the best reprsentative of Christ I know how to be. I'm not perfect, but I certainly do my best. I'm blessed to be able to serve my congregation and the community by assisting at the local family history center which is essentially a geneological library that's open to the community.

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

Eboni
I would have to say that the Mormon Church began in Heaven. We have a loving Heavenly Father who sought to prepare a way for us, and the principles of the Gospel and of salvation began way before modern history. Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Eboni
We are asked to give 10% of our income to the Church to allow for spreading of the Gospel by lending financial support to production of Bibles and Books of Mormon, temple building and worship, welfare programs for members of the church who lose a job or for some other reason cannot provide for themselves, and in general to support the community. The Lord also asks us to give this 10% as a show of faith that He provides for us, and it is because of Him that we are able to have income in the first place. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Eboni
Joining the LDS church made me the most Christian I've ever been! I grew up as a non denominational Christian, and had always been told that Mormons are not Christians. It wasn't until I started to investigate the church for myself that I was shown the truth. My faith, understanding, and trust in Christ has grown tremendously since joining the church, and I am more of a Chrisitian than I even knew I could be in the past. The head of our church is Christ. The focus of our church is on Christ. So of course, Mormons are Christians. Show more Show less
