Hi I'm Ron

I'm a busy father, husband and outdoor enthusiast, I'm a Mormon!!

About Me

I'm a very happy Husband and Father of two, soon to be three. I originally grew up in Iowa but through a series of life events ended up in beautiful Northern Arizona (I love it here!). I very much enjoy the outdoors and anything that has to do with Nature. I'm an eternal student of many subjects that I have a passion for, among them being wilderness survival/bushcraft skills, the principles of liberty and freedom, the founding and continued preservation of this great Nation (USA), and many other subjects of History including the History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm very easy to talk to and enjoy sharing ideas and opinions on a wide array of topics.

Why I am a Mormon

For me, it just makes sense!!! I didn't grow up a Mormon but my Parents instilled into me very high moral values. When I started learning to make my own choices in my latter teen years I learned about the different beliefs of the Mormon Faith and started asking questions (many of which I've had since my very early years) as I received the answers to my questions (many of which other faiths could not answer other than saying "that's just the way God made it and we are not to question God") the Holy Spirit would tell me in my heart that the things I was learning were true. The lifestyle that the Mormon faith promotes makes for a truly happy people. So the combination of the witness of the Holy Spirit telling me the LDS church is true and the lifestyle being one that makes me happy are the reasons that I have chosen to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day by being kind to others and trying to be an example of a good Christain, unfortunately I stumble at times but I keep trying to be the best I can be. At Church I have the wonderful opportunity to work with the young men ages 12-17 in the boy scouting program. I help plan wholesome and uplifting activites for them weekly and also get to help teach them various principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ each Sunday. Probably the most important part of how I live my faith is to stay close to my Heavenly Father and my Savior and to have a personal relationship with them. The way that I am able to do this is by praying to my Heavenly Father daily and also by reading His Holy Word daily. I simply love to pray and read my scriptures, it gives me the strength I need each and every day.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

Ron
The most important way the Church helps people around the world is through education. Only education in truth can help individuals change their lives for the better and when people are able to change their lives for the better they also help to change their communities for the better. The way the church educates is by sending missionaries throughout the world to teach the truths of the gospel so that people can live happier and more productive lives. The Church also educates by establishing schools to teach people various subjects that will enable them to be valuable assets to their families, their community, and ultimately their Nation and the World. Another way the Mormon Church helps others around the world is through humanitarian aid. Whenever there is a catastrophe anywhere around the world the Church immediately sends aid to those individuals who need help. The Church's supplies are often the first supplies to reach those in these situations. The Church sends hundreds of millions of dollars worth of supplies to people around the world every year.
