Hi I'm T. Park

I'm an artist, writer, scientist, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 25 year old man, studying physics (Master's) at BYU. I am good with computers--programming, repairing, linux, building; I like games--computer games (usually adventure), board games, card games, Go (an oriental board game); I like some sports--volleyball, soccer, frisbee.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the Church, but don't let that fool you. I understand how many may think that just because I was raised a certain way means that I'll usually stick to my parents' traditions, but it really isn't like that. I have felt the Spirit and know God's dealings. I've received answers to my prayers and know there is a God there listening to us. When I went to serve a mission, my companion missionary indicated a sincere knowledge that what he was teaching was right. I desired also to have that certainty and prayed earnestly for it. The answer was shockingly clear and powerful: I knew at that moment that Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration, that he saw God the Father and His Son, that he restored Christ's church, and that the Book of Mormon is also the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ. I've done this many times and can assure you that God is in control. No matter what I might hear bad about the Church, its prophets, or members, I know that although I may not have all the answers and that my trust is in Him.

How I live my faith

I've been recently engaged with ward emergency preparedness and striving to be a good home teacher. I keep myself busy enough participating in many of the ward's events.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

It won't be easy--at least it wasn't for me. You need earnest effort and real intent. Find out as much as you can--ask questions, read the scriptures, and ponder. Think, reflect, and try your faith by living the commandments. Pray often, specifically asking for an answer whether these things--the restoration of Christ's church and its current standing, the Book of Mormon--are true. Wait and listen. It may takes hours, days, weeks before you recognize the answer, but I promise you it will come. Show more Show less
