Hi I'm Shaun Micheal

I grew up in Mantua, Utah. I love to fly fish and spending time outdoors and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to a wonderful girl since 1993, I have three beautiful children. I work in the legal field as paralegal and I volunteer as mediator. I love fly fishing, sport though I'm getting old, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I just read an unfortunate comment that stated, as is often done, that those born into the church are there because they were forced into it. I'm happy to say that though I was born into a family that are members of the church I continue to be here because I choose to be and I'm grateful everyday that my Heavenly Father place me in such a family. And as is taught in the Parable of the Ten Virgins on cannot live on borrowed light. My parents instilled in me the basics of the gospel, but it was up to me to find my own testimony. My conversion to the gospel has been a life long process that continues to this day. I have come to know through experience, study, and revelation that this is Christ's church on the earth. None of that can be truly explained in words. It must be experienced.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve as the first counselor in our young men's organization. What wonderful place to be to see these young people develop their talents and build their testimonies.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Shaun Micheal
Mormons are taught that it is the individual responsibility of every person to gain salvation by seeking out Christ's true doctrine and living as Christ did. While this cannot be completely done alone, we must do all that we can by being obedient. We are all God's children and he has given us the gift of free agency. It is through this agency that we determine how far we are willing to follow Christ. By doing so we prepare to one day meet the Savior. because cannot rely on the effort of others to ensure our heavenly reward, we must earn, or lose it, according to our own actions. Just as we must prepare ourselves for that day, we are also taught to be prepared for emergencies. If we are prepared we don't have to rely on government or other public sources for our needs, we are able to care for ourselves and those who depend on us. Show more Show less
