Hi I'm Evelyn

I'm Mormon. Was born in HI, but have lived all over the world. I've 6 'grands'.

About Me

I am a very happy and healthy grandmother. In 1994 I retired from the United States Navy. The first ten years of my career was on active duty and the last 20 was in the reserve. I made that change when my only child was born because I wanted to be a full time mother. It worked out well and as my son grew older I spent more and more time on full time assignments.

Why I am a Mormon

I became active in the LDS faith about a decade ago after becoming acquainted with an individual who helped me understand how much Jesus Christ loves me and wants me to be happy. I really didn't get that before. That started me on a path of extensive study, prayer and other types of investigation. Once I was converted I had to change quite a few habits....but that was actually pretty easy because of my overwhelming desire to participate fully in the 'gospel' of Jesus Christ. I have never been so happy.

How I live my faith

Within the last year I began a 'mission' where I am able to help active duty military members and their families. It is great!

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Evelyn
I know that if I really try to always do the right things I can be blessed with inspiration from the Holy Ghost....especially with regard to how I might help someone who is having some sort of difficulty. When that happens (and I feel blessed in that it happens frequently) it makes me feel good that Heavenly Father KNOWS that if I do get one of these bits of inspiration He can depend on me to take action! It feels wonderful to be an instrument which can help someone feel God's love! Show more Show less
