Hi I'm Heather

I'm a registered nurse from California and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from northern California. I am currently attending nursing school in San Francisco working toward my master's degree in pediatric/neonatal nursing. I love being a nurse and caring for the sweet little ones who are so precious in our Heavenly Father's eyes! Before nursing school I graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a BS degree in University Studies and medical assisting as well as a minor in voice. I love to sing!! Music is another special part of my life that I treasure and I love being able to use music in my nursing career to heal and comfort the little ones I care for. I believe strongly in the healing power of music to reduce stress and pain and provide comfort and peace. I have had many opportunities through the church to sing and improve my talents that I never would have been blessed with otherwise. I served as a missionary in the South Carolina Columbia Mission from 2004-2005 and consider that the greatest experience of my life. I was able to see first hand the power that the Gospel has to change lives and the healing power of the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are converts to the church. They joined shortly after they were married in 1979. They traveled through Temple Square in Salt Lake City while on their honeymoon and were so impressed that they contacted the missionaries upon their return to California. They were baptized a few months later. The rest, as they say, is history! My younger sister and I were raised in the Gospel and my sister introduced her husband to the church and they were married in the Oakland, California temple in 2009. I don't take it for granted that I was raised in the church with the restored Gospel in my life. I consider it the greatest blessing in my life that my parents accepted the Gospel. My sister and I will be able to raise our children with the knowledge of their Savior. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that He and our Father in Heaven know each of us personally by name. I know that His restored Gospel is on the earth and that He has given us a Plan to return to live with Him again. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that a living prophet is on the earth today. Being a member of His church is my most cherished blessing. I would invite you personally to learn and explore the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and come to know for yourself of its truthfulness.

How I live my faith

Being LDS is more than just a religion or a church to belong to. It truly encompasses every aspect of your life and the decisions made every day. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is central to my everyday life and choices. I strive to live my faith every day and be an example of Jesus Christ in everything I do and say. My greatest desire is to treat others with the love and respect that He would show them.

Are Mormons Christians?

Heather
As the name of the church suggests, we worship the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer and the only true Way back to the Father. It is only through Him that we gain eternal life and exaltation. He sacrificed Himself for us and through His Atonement He made it possible to live with God our Father again after we die and through repentance achieve the blessings of eternal life.
