Hi I'm Michael

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a software engineer. I enjoy reading sci-fi and fantasy, playing video games, playing table top RPGs and board games, and I also make cheese as a hobby.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon household, and taught from a young age the truths of the gospel. My parents always told me that the church was true, but there came a time when I wanted to know for myself. I read the Book of Mormon, and prayed to know that it was true. I waited for an answer, but did not feel that I was receiving one. I waited for a while, and prayed again. It took me about half an hour before I received my answer, but when it did come, I knew that Jesus was the Christ, that the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ, and that we have prophets on the earth today. Since then, I have worked to do my best to follow his teachings and to share with others the joy that I have received.

How I live my faith

I am a secretary for my local congregation. I also am a home teacher, and visit some members of the congregation on a monthly basis to discuss the gospel with them.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Michael
Yes. The Bible is the word of God. God spoke to Prophets all throughout history, giving them his word, and one collection of the writings of these men is the Bible. God speaks to Prophets in our day as well, and we can read and listen to the word of God directed to us when we listen to the words of these prophets Show more Show less
