Hi I'm Whitney May

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student and I am studying nursing. I am the youngest of four kids. I love to run, travel, meet new people, and read.

Why I am a Mormon

I love Jesus Christ and have always desired to live his teachings. My conversion to the gospel has been a continuous process over the years as I have learned to see the hand of God in my life. I have been guided, comforted and taught by Him. I find strength and truth in the scriptures and the words of the prophets and apostles. It all makes sense how it fits together but it is more than the facts that foster my belief. It is the spirit that continually testifies to me of the truthfulness of the gospel. I am so thankful for the gospel and how it has blessed my life. The church teaches doctrines and principles most people value such as family, education, hope, love, health, etc. The church expounds, teaches, and supports these values through doctrine taught by Jesus Christ and His disciples. I know my redeemer lives and loves me. I know that I am a daughter of God and when I know that everything else falls into place.

How I live my faith

I live in a singles ward and have had the opportunity to serve the women in my ward. I served as the secretary for the women's organization and it has been a tremendous blessing in my life. It allowed me to become involved, know and love the women in my ward and make some of the best friends I have ever had. I am currently working as a counselor for the "especially for youth" summer camp program. This is where we teach the youth of the church how to live the standards while still having a lot of fun! I love service and try to combine that with my nursing skills. I volunteer at the hospital on sunday nights and at a free health clinic on a occasion.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

Whitney May
I know that there is a God by being a witness to everyday miracles. My day starts by the miracle of another day with the sun streaming in my window. I know that there is a God when I pray because I feel that I really am speaking to my Heavenly Father and that He hears every word. I know He is listening when I feel peace and receive answers to my prayers. I know that there is a God when I am surrounded by His creations in nature and in social surroundings. I know that there is a God when I see the birth of a child and as they take their first breath. I know there is a God when I study and learn about the human body and how intricate and divinely designed it is for us. I know there is a God when I feel immense joy in my life and when I am comforted in my sorrows. He is the only one I can turn to in times of despair. I know there is a God when I blessed for my efforts of obedience to His laws. I know there is a God because He has given us commandments to live our lives by that we may have joy.I feel of His love for everyone when I read the scriptures that testify of His Son's sacrifice. I know there is a God when even though I desire to uplift another person through service I am all the more enriched because of it. I know there is a God when I receive strength to overcome what seemed insurmountable tasks through prayer and His guidance. I believe that what seem like coincidences in our lives are really God's little reminders that He is watching over each one of us. Show more Show less
