Deborah Diane: Mormon.

Hi I'm Deborah Diane

About Me

I am a stay at home mome who seems to always be in the car. I have eight wonderful, active, and very challenging children. In my spare time (or the time I steal for myself) I love to crochet and contact others on the computer. My hubby and I have been married for 20 years now and I can't believe how quickly the time goes by.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon but that is not why I am a Mormon now. I am a Mormon now because I endeavored to, and succeeded in gaining my own personal witness that the Book of Mormon and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true.

Personal Stories

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

My feelings about Joseph Smith are very tender. Here is a young boy who is simply wanting to find out the truth. He has attended all these churches and they disagree with each other so vehemantly he doesn't know what to do. He so wants to do God's will. He is reading the bibile which tells him "If you lack wisdom ask me"...so he endeavors to do so. In response to his humble prayer for answers he is granted a miraculous vision of Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. What an overwhelming, life-changing experience for a 14 year old boy. An experience he never recounted or denied even though persecution and hate were everywhere around him. He continued to do the Lord's will in bringing forth the restoration of the true church. He translated the Book of Mormon, an ancient record of faith, to go hand in hand with the Bible...in helping us find our way to Jesus Christ, and back to our Heavenly Father. For his efforts in the salvation of mankind, for his desire to bring others to the truth he was brutally murdered at a young age, alongside his brother, and sealed the testimony of the truthfullness of these things with his blood. I love him so much, and I am so grateful for him. And I hope to meet him someday and be worthy to look him in the eye and thank him personally.

How I live my faith

We always, always, pay our tithing. We know that we have been so blessed by this principle. In the twenty years of marriage, my husband has been out of steady work for 5. Yet we have always had a roof over our heads, cars that run, and plenty to eat and wear. We KNOW this is a blessing from our Heavenly Father because we live the law of the tithe. We always go to church. Even when it is a huge struggle we take our kids to church. We only make exceptions for illness. Sometimes it is hard but that is all the more reason we don't dare stop...and we are glad that we go. I love the renewal of spirit I feel when I attend church. We try to have family scripture study every night and family prayer. We try to live the gospel in our dress, media, and in the way we treat each other (really working on that one!!). We try to remember the Savior Jesus Christ is the center of our faith, the WHY in what we do.
