Hi I'm Michael

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Husband and a Father to 3 wonderful children. I currently work as an Actuary. I like to go camping, snowboarding, golfing and play anything that is a sport. Football is my favorite sport though. I like to sing and have had a great opportunity of singing in many cathedrals in a few cities in Italy when I was a senior in high school. I also play the string base and have played in a Jazz band before. When I turned 19 I had a great opportunity to go on a mission. I served in the Netherlands and Belgium speaking Dutch for 2 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church and have enjoyed every bit of it. When I was a kid my parents taught me to read the scriptures and pray about them to know if what I was reading was true. I have never had that big angelic confirmation, like so many people have had, that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet. But almost every time I read through the scriptures or listen the the prophets and apostles speak I feel the spiritual confirmation that what is being said is true. I know that the words they speak have come from our Heavenly Father. While serving my mission I grew closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by studying the scriptures and continually praying for spiritual confirmations. I learned how to truly serve others and how to put other before myself. Sharing the gospel with others has taught me the true joys that I get out of listening and following the teaching of Jesus Christ. As I have served in different capacities in the church my testimony has grown stronger and my love for the savior has grown. I know that as I listen and follow the prophets, now and old, that I will return and live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

One of my current responsibilities in the church is to work with the young men. Though I am in charge of all of them I mainly work with the older 16-18 year olds. We meet every Wednesday evening to do a variety of activities, such as: scouts, bowling, lazar tag, service projects, different sports and go out with the missionaries of the church. Some weekends we will go camping, mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, and in the winter some sort of sledding or snow camping. On Sundays we teach them different principles to help them learn how to serve and treat others. We teach them basic principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
