Hi I'm Guin.

I'm a 28 year old living life with all it brings and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Spanish teacher and currently working towards a masters in Spanish. My current hobbies are sewing quilts and riding motorcycles. I am a wife, daughter, sister, and granddaughter trying to manage family, school, and life.

Why I am a Mormon

In short, I read the Book of Mormon and followed the promise at the end. I know it is true. I also read the testimony of Joseph Smith. I prayed sincerely to know the truth and God answered my humble prayer. To this day I can remember that vivid moment with clarity in my mind and heart. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and he restored Christ's church on the earth. I am a Mormon because I have found truth and cannot deny it, but more than that, I need this truth in my life. I need my Savior and I need his plan for therein lies hope and eternal life. It is through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ that I can find peace, strength, and guidance. I have the assurance that my life has purpose and God knows me and cares about me.

How I live my faith

Our faith is evidenced in how we conduct our lives and I strive daily to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Right now I am working most earnestly on founding my recent marriage on the principles of the Gospel. In my local ward, I serve as a pianist and lead a committee that strives to serve others.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Guin.
One of the greatest blessings I receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost is the peace and assurance that gives me the knowledge that I am doing God's will. When life is complicated the Holy Ghost assures me that God is there and is pleased with my efforts to keep the commandments. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Guin.
Pornography is a evil and destructive force. It destroys souls, families, marriages. It hurts all those involved whether or not they are the ones involved in pornography. It stops when people understand their nature as children of God and that the power of procreation is sacred and good within the bonds of marriage. It stops when people realize the hurt and pain pornography causes to those they love and when they no longer want to be the cause of that hurt and pain. It stops when honestly becomes a priority. It stops when those involved recognize all that they are giving up only to indulge in sin that destroys life. When eternal life with loved ones means more than a sinful pleasure, the soul-cleansing struggle begins. And hope exists because of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through acknowledgment of sin, confession, and repentance, the soul can be changed and made clean through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Avoiding and getting out of pornography are choices that must be made with determination and conviction. A very helpful website is http://combatingpornography.org/cp/eng/. It provides resources for support and recovery to those whose lives have been strained by pornography. Show more Show less
