Hi I'm Lauri

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I love animals! That is probably the most defining thing about my personality. I spent many years ignoring my dream of working with animals and went from one major to another at a university. I became severely depressed and dropped out. With the help of God, my husband, and some cute guinea pigs, I overcame my challenges and conquered my depression. Now I have returned to school to pursue a degree in Veterinary Technology. I found my happiness and am so excited to see where this new path leads me!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but that is not the reason I stay. The peace and happiness it brings me are immeasurable! I have learned that my weaknesses do not make me a bad person, and that God can and will help me overcome them as long as I have faith. I was blessed with the opportunity to serve a mission in New York and see the Gospel transform lives first hand. No weakness is too great and no sin is too severe; every single one of us can be made whole through the Atonement of Christ. God loves each and every one of his children more than we can comprehend. He knows us all by name and wants nothing more than for us to return to live with him again someday.

How I live my faith

I suffer from Social Anxiety Disorder, so interacting with others at church is difficult. I have seen incredible blessings from attending church, so that keeps me determined to do my best! I love the feeling of acceptance I feel at church, and am so grateful for the patience others show with my weaknesses. I have been assigned to work with the very young children on Sundays, and their innocence and purity is beautiful to see. In my community I am happy to share with others who are curious about my faith; I love to tell others about the peace it brings me.
