Hi I'm Scott

I write stuff. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. All kinds. Listening to it... Or making it. I love video games...normally ones with a strong and moving storyline which are far and few between. And I love movies. Perhaps that's why I'm a screenwriter. One of those guys who sometimes gets paid to write things for television or movies. Things that, most of the time, don't ever see the light of day. The job can be so difficult. Working on projects for weeks or months at a time not knowing if you will get paid for it. But it's rewarding. It's fulfilling. Being the creator of something. Building something that hopefully moves people in some way. That perhaps changes their perspective. I'm thankful I have a wife patient enough to let me do this as we work to build our life together. Shoot...I'm thankful I have a wife at all!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was in high school and I was a bit wild, when my brother... He's ten years older than I... He told me he was going to be baptized. He stopped drinking and smoking... He seemed so happy. He asked me to talk with the missionaries. I was curious. As wild as I may have been, even at 17, I wanted something more. I knew something was out there. When I spoke with the missionaries... I remember them answering questions I had that I couldn't seem to get answered anywhere. Answers that seemed so right. I still remember them saying to not take their word for it. That I should go to God. To ask Him in prayer. The Bible said He would answer me. And the book they shared with me, The Book of Mormon, it said He would answer my prayers too. So, I prayed... I got my answer. I was baptized a few days later. It is the best decision I have ever made.

How I live my faith

I have four families that I visit with every month and make sure they are taken care of spiritually and physically. I teach seven teenagers about the Gospel of Jesus Christ every Sunday. And they teach me right back. What amazing young men and women they are. Every morning and night I kneel with my wife and give thanks for the blessings of the day.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Scott
I guess the first step is to learn about it. The missionaries do a great job of teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But there are a lot of ways to learn. This site is a great place to learn. A friend who is active in the church is another. Or you could order a free Book of Mormon and read it. A promise contained in that sacred book says that if you read it and think about those things you have read and then pray to God... He will answer you. His answer will come by the power of the Holy Ghost. Inotherwords, he will tell you in your mind and in your heart if the book is of God. In fact, this is how you can know the truth of all things.
