Hi I'm Rokson

I'm a Singaporean. I am a son, a brother, a husband and a father. I'm a Mormon. I am a child of God.

About Me

I have a lovely wife who keeps in my best behavior all the time. I am a father of three beautiful and very active children. When I was young I had a keen interest in airplanes, UFOs, Maya civilization, and everything scientific. I am a fan of Star Wars and Star Trek. I used to go scuba diving and do Latin social dancing. Right now, I am busy keeping a record while creating happy memories for my family through photos and video recordings.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a happy family. My mother was a fantastic homemaker who takes very good care of everyone and everything at home. I especially remember how much love and care she puts into her food preparation to make delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner for all of us. When I was around eight or nine years old, my family fell apart when my father preferred another woman over my mother. There was disharmony in my family. One day, my cousin told me that there is an old man who lives on the moon and he listens to prayer. Every night I would look towards the moon and pray that my family will be back together again. After many years later, a classmate of mine who was a new convert to the church invited me to attend a church dance. I gladly accepted the invitation but told her not to not to give my phone number to the missionaries. They called me the following day and I rejected their invitation for gospel discussion. However, I do get to see them regularly because my piano teacher lives nearby to the church. In fact, the church was just about 5 bus stops away from my home. I passed by the church building since I was young and I always that it was some kind of clubhouse because the occupants were always well dressed in suits and tie. Later on I was compelled to use the church cultural hall for group studies because my school library was very crowded all the time. The missionaries would come by for a chat when they saw me. Then a message struck me when one of them mentioned that the church believes in "Families can be together forever". That got me interested and I took up the missionary discussion after that. Two years later, after much objection from my mother, I finally became a member of the church. The church gave me hope that my family can one day be together again for all eternity. This is possible because the church has the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and they are true.

How I live my faith

I have served in many different callings in my ward. At present moment, I am the Sunday School President. I have 4 wonderful teachers under my care and they are doing fantastic job in conducting their Sunday School classes. At times, I would take over their lessons when they are not available. In effect, I get to teach the youth as well as the adults. I enjoy teaching and sharing the gospel with others. Sometimes the spirit would prompt me to share some of my experiences that are of worth to those in the class and provide them with necessary encouragement to stay close to the gospel.
