Hi I'm Minta

I'm an Air Force wife, mother, home-maker, dancer, singer, writer, depression conqueror and, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Feeding, cleaning, making, clearing, driving, dancing, singing, kissing... a list of some of the things I do every day! I am married and have one child. My degree is in Journalism and although I don't work full-time, the things I learned while attending Brigham Young University still make me a better mother, wife, friend, daughter, citizen and student to the world and life. I am an Air Force wife. I try to live by the virtues of love, kindness, honesty, work, gratitude, cleanliness of body and mind. I love to have fun, too!

Why I am a Mormon

While living in Spain I came to a point in my life where I realized it's up to me to choose to continue to believe in what I always have or take another path in life. After a lot of confusion, pain of mind and heart, prayers I wasn't completely sure were heard, and deep scripture study I went to bed one night almost ready to completely give up. The feeling I had as I lay there in bed listening to a song I thought might calm me down was unmistakeable. It was God's love... filling my soul physically and spiritually. I wept tears of joy and relief and knew the path I'd chosen: to live by faith in the Savior and His restored Church.

How I live my faith

I'd say my every-day challenge of living my faith is shown by how well I qualify for the companionship of God's spiritual influence and then how diligently I follow that. For example, if I want to go on a run and am prompted to stop by someone's house that may need a visit, do I go or do I ignore that prompting? It's by that Spirit I've been encouraged to stand up for peers that are being teased, confess when I've done something wrong, attend the university I attended, serve a 1.5 year mission, marry the man I married in the place I married him, start a family when we did and research and then campaign for the fight against human-trafficking, and more. I also believe in doing many things out of my own free-will- without being "prompted"- that are right and uplifting. Those things I do include making dinner for my family throughout the week, taking a tap class, recording my thoughts and feelings in a journal, blogging about family happenings, keeping in touch with old friends, staying connected to family, studying the scriptures and modern-day Prophet's words, and spending as much time with my husband and sweet daughter as possible.
