Hi I'm Patti Jo

I'm a wife and a mother. I'm happy, sad, joyful, silly, and serious. I love and I am loved. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and have two children. I'm the glue of my family and spend my time loving and serving my family. I love being involved in my children's education and love the challenge of teaching my children at home. I stay busy creating many things for my family with my hands. I crochet, sew, and loom knit. There is something extra special about being able to make something unique for a loved one. I also read, read, read!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I find strength in Jesus Christ and in his gospel. Beginning as a child I was taught to follow the Lord's commandments and to turn to Him in times of need. Life is filled with trials, small and large. I cannot imagine trying to go through life alone, without His help. I've felt the strengthening power of the Lord through many times of struggle - through cancer and chemo, through daily life with a love one with Bipolar Disorder, and as a mother. Great comfort comes from drawing close to the Lord.

How I live my faith

I try everyday to do better, to be better. I know that I have many weaknesses. I also know that this life is a time to become better and work on becoming more like our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Everyday I try to be more patient and more loving. When I fall short, I repent and begin anew. I'm so grateful for the power of the atonement that allows me be forgiven and begin anew. I'm trying to teach my children of our Heavenly Father's love. I'm helping them to see how they can overcome their weaknesses and wrong choices and become better, closer to, and more like Christ. I teach them from the scriptures and sing songs of the God's love and teachings to them each day. I try to serve my husband unselfishly. I've found that by putting his needs and wants before mine and helping him, my needs and wants are also fulfilled and our love is strengthened. Christ shows us the pattern of loving and serving each other and when I follow it my marriage is strengthened.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Patti Jo
Women can be a great power and influence for good. In our world today men do not halve to turn to magazines, videos, or pictures on the internet to access pornography, it walks down the street, jumps off of billboards, stands in front of them at the grocery store, and even surrounds them in the work place. Women can begin the battle against pornography by choosing to dress modestly and influencing women and girls around us to do the same. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Patti Jo
Being a Mormon is wonderful! The world is a confusing place. I find comfort and peace in following Jesus Christ. When I attend church, read the scriptures and pray I feel joy. The world doesn't go away, my problems don't go away, but my perspective changes and my burdens are lighter. I feel peace, even in turmoil. Show more Show less
