Hi I'm Rob C.

I'm a husband and a father, I'm a veterinarian that wishes he could play baseball for the Arizona Diamondbacks, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outdoors, whether that means playing sports, hiking, camping, fishing, or hunting. All these activities are also great to do with the family, which is a big reason why I enjoy them. I also spend much of my time at my work as a veterinarian. I went to veterinary school in Colorado and then came back home to arizona to practice. I work specifically with horses but enjoy spending time with almost any animal. Working on horses is a fun challenge because of their size and quickness. It can also be challenging because we work outdoors in the Phoenix heat much of the day! It is a fulfilling career that I'm lucky to be a part of. At home, we have fish, chickens, a cat and a dog. My family has a lot of fun with our crazy animals. I am married to a wonderful wife and we have 6 daughters. We have a lot of pink and princess stuff around our house to go along with those wonderful girls. Even their sports equipment is pink! We are lucky to have much of our extended family very close by. We spend most of our free time with them. Our children's best friends are their cousins, which I think is pretty special. We love giving service through our church and community and focus as a family on what we can do to be helpful to those around us.

Why I am a Mormon

It is both easy and hard to describe why I'm a Mormon. Some of the many benefits are easy to write on paper. Our family is strong because of our membership. My children are growing up in a loving environment that not only encourages healthy discipline, but builds their character and gives them reason to be confident by helping them understand their role on this earth. My marriage is very happy and solidified by my membership. We know that we are sealed together forever. With this knowledge we can move forward with faith, without fear, knowing that despite all we will be together if we live in obedience to God's commandments. Additionally, I am a better person because of my membership. Because I know that I have a Heavenly Father that knows and cares about me individually I have overcome many temptations and hope to be able to overcome all trials. I know that the principles of the gospel guide us to make better decisions. This helps us to lead happier lives, all the while looking forward to a future with faith and hope of returning to live with our Heavenly Father. It is also hard to describe why I am a member of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The Savior promised a comforter when he left the apostles of old. This comforter is present here on the Earth today as the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost has communicated to me the truthfulness of the principles I have already discussed, and others. And even though it can be difficult to describe how, I know that gospel principles such as tithing, sacrifice, family, and continuing revelation are true because of the whisperings of the Holy Ghost. I know that as I continue to learn new principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I continue to receive the feelings of the spirit bearing record to me that they are true. This can be felt by all that seek it out with a diligent and humble heart. I know this to be true.

How I live my faith

While I have been blessed to have many callings in the church, it is my priviledge to serve in the bishopric currently. This is a great place to be since it allows me to be a part of all that goes on in the ward. I get to serve the young men, participating in scouting with them and helping them plan and carry out their duties in the gospel. I enjoy being with them as we go hiking, camping, shooting, biking, and many other activities. We also make it a priority to plan service projects for our community such as neigborhood clean up's, gathering supplies for people that have fallen on hard times, and taking care of jobs that people can't do for themselves. I have seen how the Young Men program really makes a difference in the lives of these fine youth. I also take part in much of the activities of the Young Women. These wonderful people serve as a constant reminder of what an amazing potential exists in our youth. Their spirit and dedication is a continual inspiration, reminding me to try to be better than I am. I also help to oversee the teaching of the children in the ward in what is called "primary". The primary is where the most tender hearts are found and I am lucky to be able to go in and participate in some of their activities. These activities such as cub scouts, activity days, primary sharing time and classroom study are so important for the children because it helps them to know where they came from, who they are and how they can be happy throughout their lives. I am so glad that my family is actively involved in serving and participating in these organizations. They help us to pattern our lives after the Savior's, leading to personal and family happiness. I can tell you that I know that it is through service and activity that we can best follow the Savior's example and lead the most fulfilling life. I love the church and the opportunity it gives me to serve the Lord through serving his people.
