Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a medical student. I love to read, learn, bike, run, and play raquetball.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has changed my life for the better. I have learned about my Heavenly Father, that He is a loving father that cares for me. He wants me to be happy. It is comforting to know that when I pray to Him He listens and guides me. Through my activity in the Church I have come to know that Jesus Christ paid the price for my shortcomings and flaws. His Atonement makes up for my inadequacies. Knowing these things allows me to live in confidence with myself and others, and allows me to attempt to do good things that I may not have otherwise attempted. Since I know I will live with my family after this life, I try to build stronger and more loving relationships with them. By daily study of the scriptures I learn about myself and my Savior, and how to be a better citizen in my community.

How I live my faith

I served a two year mission in southern Mexico where I shared the blessings of the gospel. I teach lessons during church meetings and find people who want to come back to church. I share faith by posting on my blog.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

David
The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead, along with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He does not have a physical body, but is a spirit. He guides honest people to find truth, and can warn of physical or spiritual dangers. We feel his influence as joy, peace, meekness, and temperance (Galatians 5:22). He confirms good actions by giving us these feelings. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

David
I do. When I listen to the prophet speak and follow his counsel, the Spirit testifies to me that he is a prophet of God and I find that what he says is true. We need a prophet to guide us through our lives now. The time in which we live is different from the past. We have technologies that people in history did not experience. On the other hand, it is difficult for us to fully understand the culture and lives of people who lived in the past. During every period of time we need a prophet to teach us our Heavenly Father's will. Show more Show less
