Hi I'm Phyllis

About Me

I am a wife and a mother. I have been married 24 years and have 3 boys that are all adults. I work in real estate and my favorite thing to do is cook a fabulous meal for my family and friends. I am part of a choral group called the Hymns of Thanksgiving that performs in Boise Idaho every year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and grandmother took me to church when I was a little girl and then I was baptised when I was 8. It was not until I was in my early 20's that I truly became a member of this church. I had been through a life time of trama and abuse and one day decided that this world had nothing to offer me. It was then I asked if there really was a God and if so did he know who I was and did he care about me. As I sought the answer to this question my testimony began to develop and grow. I came to know who my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ were and that God had a plan of happiness for me. I really needed a plan of happiness. I chose to follow that plan. I have found that happiness.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and work each day to keep myself on track in following him by reading good books and studying the scriptures. I try to learn more about my Saviors life each day and focus on not only what he would have me do but how he would want me to do it.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Phyllis
We believe that through the grace of our Savior all mankind may be saved. We are all sinners and fall short of the grace of God. Without Jesus Christ we would all be condemed to an eternal damnation. Through him we can overcome that. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Phyllis
We can come to know our Heavenly Father as we study the scriptures. That is where his story is told. As we learn about him we begin to have a desire to be close to him and then live as he would have us live. As we do this we get to know him even better. Just like when you make a new friend. You learn about who they are and how they treat others and how the live their life. As that takes place you decide that you do or do not want to spend more time with them and then you include them in your activities and plans. You go where they go and take them along with you. That is the best way I know to get to know God. Show more Show less
