Hi I'm Jared

I'm a university student. I'm an art, music, and history enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family moved to Cambridge, Ontario, from New Brunswick back when I was about nine years old. We've lived here ever since, and I love it. I was raised a Mormon, served a two-year mission in southern Argentina, and feel remarkably blessed by the restored gospel in every aspect of my young life to this day. Currently, I am studying History and English at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, and I hope to move on to teacher's college afterwards to become a high school teacher. I teach piano during the week and work at a furniture store on weekends. Meanwhile, I spend most of my free time reading, playing piano, doing family history, and keeping in touch with old friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church, but like most I had some struggles in developing a testimony while I was a teenager. Thankfully I was blessed with wonderful people who supported me during that time, and helped me grow spiritually. I love being a Mormon! I feel remarkably blessed to know so much about God and the plan he has for us. It has definitely provided hope and happiness in my life. Whenever I read the scriptures or pray or take part in church activities and lessons, I feel a remarkable peace and joy that proves to me that I am doing the right thing and that I am where God wants me to be.

How I live my faith

At first it was really difficult to be spiritually-minded, even though I was brought up in the Church. When I was younger I wasn't as diligent in saying prayers or reading scriptures, and I've made plenty of mistakes. It's easy to give up or beat yourself up for the mistakes you make, but I've learned that by focusing on Jesus Christ and His love for each and every one of us it makes every effort to be better all the more successful and worthwhile.
