Hi I'm Shane

Software Design by day, Super Dad by night, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in the Southeastern United States for the majority of my life. I love the warmth, the vegetation, and even the humidity. My wife and I are raising two beautiful girls here. I love creating software. I love books, writing, swimming, and the great outdoors. We, as a family, love college football and Braves baseball. We love a good movie, a good book, and a trip to the bookstore. We love to be together.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a Mormon. Even when I was a child this gospel made sense. I was baptized shortly after turning 8 years old. I don't remember too much about that day -- primarily I recall a feeling of great joy and peace. I knew that I had done something that my Heavenly Father appreciated. As I grew up, I continued to study the scriptures and the history of the church. I gained a powerful testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. With that foundation I continued to gain a surety of other aspects of this gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, that our families can be together forever, and of paramount importance -- that Jesus is the Christ.

How I live my faith

My days begin and end with prayer and scripture study. As I go through my day I try to be a little more patient and a little less selfish. I try to help those around me. At church I help the teachers and make sure that everything is taken care of for Sunday School. I work with the other men to serve the members of our congregation.

What is faith?

Shane
On a cloudy night when my oldest daughter was three, we sat outside watching a lunar eclipse. The moon disappeared behind the clouds several times as we watched. On one of these occasions I told her, "The moon is gone." She wisely replied, "It'll be back." A few moments later the moon returned to view. The evidence of something she couldn't currently see helped her believe the truth. That is faith. Show more Show less
