Hi I'm Greg

I'm the second son of seven children, a husband, a father. I love life with all of its joys and its challenges. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California. I went to school in Utah. I lived in Australia for two years as an LDS missionary. I got married in San Diego to a beautiful girl from Idaho. I graduated from college and worked for two years and then returned to complete an MBA. We moved to Wisconsin and lived there for almost nine years. We were blessed with a beautiful daughter in 2006. We moved back to California in 2009. While in Wisconsin we took sailing lessons on Lake Michigan. It was a lot of fun and we've sailed a few times since moving to California. Tennis is my favorite sport. I also enjoy basketball and am game for anything competitive, from ping pong to bocci to board games. (My wife is as competitive as I am, so we have to control our competitiveness or Monopoly games can get a bit too intense). I have been trying to get in shape recently, have lost 10 lbs and gained a bit more strength and will compete in a sprint triathlon in October 2011. (I was motivated in part by a desire to lower my high cholesterol and have managed to lower it 30 points in the last seven months). I love to spend time at home with our family. I love to get things done around the house, to organize things, to get projects done that have been waiting a long time, and to work together as a family. I love to get up early Saturday mornings, work together, and then play together in the afternoon. I love my wife and her happy disposition, and I love my daughter and her excitement for life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have found that when I live the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that I find happiness, that I become a better person, that I can be guided by the Lord in all aspects of my life. I'm a Mormon because I learn how to be happy in our home and family. The teachings of Jesus Christ, through the scriptures and through living prophets, guide us in our family, how to love and serve one another, in our church, at work, and in our community.

How I live my faith

I currently work with the youth of our church, with about 200 young men and young women in eight congregations. We organize activities that are designed to help strengthen them in a world that is increasingly wicked. We help them live the standards of modesty, purity, honesty, chastity, faith, wholesome activities, appropriate dating, and we organize events wherein they can strengthen each other. We also organize Boy Scout activities to help young men build character, leadership, and self-reliance by living the ideals of scouting. I also visit two families in our congregation each month and do what I can to strengthen their faith and help them.
