Hi I'm Jeremiah

I'm a husband and father. I'm a technology nut. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born, raised and still live in Utah. I have a wife and four sons. I work as a software engineer, writing custom software. I have always enjoyed working with computers and I love modern technology. I enjoy playing with all of the new gadgets that are always being released. I enjoy listening to music, cooking, gardening (but I'm not very good at that one) and of course, computers. I enjoy playing video games and board games. I don't have a whole lot of time for that though. My boys love dinosaurs, space and most anything science related. We live in an amazing universe and it is wonderful to see my children so interested in what everything is and how everything works.

Why I am a Mormon

I am grateful to know that our Heavenly Father is not just a passive observer or someone who has created a bunch of hoops that he expects us to jump through. He truly is our father and he takes an interest in us. He wants us to be happy and has a plan for us that if we follow, we can be happy and inherit everything that he has. Life isn't always easy. Just because he loves us and wants us to be happy, doesn't mean that he is going to remove any difficulty from our lives. Adversity helps us grow and makes us stronger. There are certainly horrible things that happen in the world. In spite of that, God truly wants what is best for us and if we are obedient, if we work hard and if we persevere, we will grow and improve until we are able to become like Him. I'm grateful that being a Mormon has given me many opportunities to server others and look beyond myself. Without the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I don't think that I would have the motivation or direction to be someone who is interested in the welfare of others. Overcoming selfishness is a daily battle and the example of Jesus is my greatest resource in that battle.

How I live my faith

One of the most important teachings of Jesus is that we should love our neighbor as ourselves. This one is always hard for me, but I try to live my life in a fashion where I have a positive impact on those around me. There is so much bad stuff in the world and I may not be able to make a difference in the world at large, but I can always work to make the world around me better. I have the opportunity to teach Sunday school classes at church. It is a great opportunity to be able to spend time learning the gospel and finding ways to integrate the teachings into my daily life.
