Hi I'm Chrissy

I grew up in Idaho. I enjoy the outdoors and being active. I'm a mormon.

About Me

One word that accurately describes my life is "active." Every part of my life is very active. I have been married for around 7 years. I have two young children. One of my favorite things to do is take them for a bike ride. Being outside is something I really enjoy. I love, hiking, camping and swimming. Many of these things I don't get to do a lot, so I am really grateful when I have the opportunity. I spend most of my time taking care of my children, and doing school work. I am an online student. My major is Health Science. My favorite subject is science, which is why I chose that degree. Eventually I would love to go into physical therapy. Learning is my favorite hobby. I love watching shows like NOVA. I also love reading and listening to audiobooks. A couple of my favorite books series are, the "Ender Wiggins" series by Orson Scott Card and "The Wheel of Time" series by Robert Jordan.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. However, when I was a teenager I lived in a small town where there weren't a lot of other Mormons. One of the kids I went to school with loved to give me a hard time about being a Mormon. He would harass me relentlessly and tell me that the church wasn't true. This started to make me question if the church was true. I decided that I needed to find out if I truly believed. I decided to read the Book of Mormon and pray and ask God if it were true. I knew that I believed in God. I also knew that God wanted me to find the truth. I knew that if the Book of Mormon were a true book, then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was Jesus Christ's true restored gospel on the earth today. As I prayed to Heavenly Father I felt that he knew me; he understood my troubles and my fears. As I read the book of Mormon I felt peace, comfort and as knowledge that it was a true book. When I was finished and I asked if it was a true book, I knew that it was. The truth of it was told to me by the Holy Ghost. Since that time I have worked every single day to continue to develop my relationship with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I notice a considerable difference in my life when I am reading my scriptures, praying and sincerely seeking a relationship with my Savior. My trials don't always go away, but I can feel Jesus Christ helping me bare my burdens. That is why I am a Mormon, because of the joy, and peace that Jesus Christ's restored gospel brings into my life. I know that it is his church because it bares his fruits, which are peace, joy and love.

How I live my faith

I am an active participant in my ward. I volunteer as a secretary that helps with the organization that teaches the children on Sundays. I do things like, collect attendance, assign the children to say prayers, give talks and recite scriptures, during the opening exercises of the class. It has helped me get to know all of the wonderful children in my ward and learn how special they are. I also go visit other women in the ward. Every month another woman and I go to the homes of ladies in our ward to share a spiritual thought and see what needs they have and if there is anything we can do to help them. One of the ways I help one of the women is by babysitting her son when her babysitter falls through. I have really enjoyed doing this.
