Hi I'm Maria Isabel

I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm 21 years old. I have been a member of the church since I was born, I have grew up loving the Gospel and have been blessed with a loving family.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I have obtain a testimony that this is the only church with the authority of God on earth to help His children to guide them back to God. I'm a mormon because I have found the truth about who I am and why I'm here. I'm a mormon because I know where I'll go and what my Father wants me to do and achieve in this life. I'm a mormon because I have grew up with the knowlegde of a Perfect Plan that God has created because He loves us so much. I'm a mormon because I have been blessed with the truth knowledge that I'm a daughter of God and that He loves me.

How I live my faith

I love participating in my ward. I have been a teacher of Sunday School for 12-13 year olds, I have been a music director for sacrament meeting and right now I am the pianist for Sacrament Meeting which has been a challenge in my life, but I'm thankful for that opportunity to develop my talents. I also teach the youth, they had teach me so much as I work with them because I'm able to help them in their own challenges and help them in God's way, they make me remember my own efforts to be a daughter of God. We are always having our meeting during the week and is so amazing to see them grow with such good principles. It's incredible to see young women and men preparing to be loving parents and making effort to be worthy of receiving the blessings of the temple.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Maria Isabel
I love the temples. Temples are the house of the Lord on the Earth. Just like in ancient times, in temples of the church and with the proper authority we get closer to God. In temples we can be sealed with our families forever, we can be married not just for this mortal life but to forever. We can hope to be reunited with relatives that have died and with this ordinances we now that we may see them again one day. I love the feeling you have in the temple. You feel save, loved, protected, pure and worthy of being in a sacred place. I always remember that my teachers in church told us to remain in holy places, and every year we used to go to the temple I felt happy and excited to be there as soon as I can. It's a place where you can have answer to prayers, and really have a testimony that God is our Father and that He has sent us to Earth to prove us and help us progress to one day go back to Him. When I'm in the temple I now that God is in that place, it feels just like if you have stepped into heaven for a while. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Maria Isabel
God is the same in all times. He has never stopped loving His children and that means that He would never leave them without a guide, a leader. He wants us to go back to Him with all His heart. He loves us and because of this love he has sent living prophets thoughout the years to guide us. I believe there is a prophet today as I believe that if a Father loves His children He would never let them walk alone and lost. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Maria Isabel
We as mormons, because of the blessing of finding the truth have the desire in our hearts to let this message of love to be taught to the people in the world. Not all mormons are required to serve a mission, but we grew up with a spirit of sharing what we live. Boys who turn 19 years old have been taught that serving a mission is what Heavenly Father wants them to do at that time so they prepare themselves to go on a mission. Girls, well.. we can go on a mission since we are 21 years old. As I grew up I never considered going on a mission but as years have passed I have counted my blessings because of the gospel and now I found myself preparing to serve a mission within the next six months. I consider it the most wonderful privilege I will ever experience. We can also share the gospel in so many ways. With our example. Not everyone go on missions but the way of living the principles of the gospel and loving God is a way of being a missionary as we share our lifes with others. Show more Show less
