Hi I'm Jason Watling

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 45 years old, married with 4 children. I own my own design consultancy which gives me the freedom to use my time wisely between my family, work and the church. I am the oldest of 8 children, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. I loved growing up in what is called a 'Large Family', there was always something going on in the house. My relationship with my family is very close, and that is due to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are all grown up now and married with children of our own, but still enjoy getting together. My mother passed away a few years ago to cancer, but we believe in life after death, and that knowledge strengthens me to know we shall see each other again. I served a fulltime mission in the Alabama Birmingham Mission back in the 80's, and returned home to finish my college education and spent the next 7 years working as a designer in the sign industry before taking the plunge and starting my own company. My hobbies include mountain biking, working on my Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo car and spending time with my family. I still enjoy playing computer games, and regulary jump online with my brothers just to chat and catch up.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a 'Mormon', and have never doubted that my parents where wrong in the way they raised me. In time I gained my own testimony, putting faith in prayer I asked my Father in Heaven if what I knew was true, the overwhelming answer was that it is! I have witnessed miracles, some of which I have been apart of, I have seen the difference the gospel makes in the lives of my family and friends and hope and pray that I can continue to live the teachings I hold sacred. A few years ago my mother passed away to cancer, I know I will see her again, before she left this earth to return home to God, she asked all of her children one thing 'Return with honour'! We all promised we would.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a 'Clerk' in the unit I live in, this envolves admin of membership records (making sure they have correct details etc.), taking the minutes of meetings and then following up during the week to remind people of their assignments, finacial audits and submitting reports to the church of attendance etc. I also hold the position of 'Webmaster' for the churches UK websites, this involves adding news worthy articles and working with local PR to help raise the profile of the church in England. I have always believed that if you give to the Lord some of your time, he will bless you with the things you need.
