Hi I'm Romolo S.

I have roots in Canada going back to the 1600's. I just finished my undergrad and love my Saviour Jesus and my wife so much!!

About Me

I have a very loving wife, she is the strength of my back which God has given me through the struggles of life. I'm so excited to have finished school. I love bicycling either by myself to reflect or with others. I studied engineering and enjoy teaching what I have learned. I love sharing what I have learned from the scriptures with others and enjoy listening to other insights. I enjoy polite conversations of religion to learn about other people in the world. I am a peacemaker. I taught myself the korean and hebrew characters, but still can't converse in another language :) I enjoy learning phrases from friends around the world. I enjoy facts and reading history, but recently enjoyed reading some fictional novels. I believe everyone has purpose and that by seeking, anyone will come to know God, for all things testify of Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this Church because I have received a witness that Heavenly Father literally hears me when I speak to Him. I know he has answered my prayers. The first time when I wanted to read the Book of Mormon I was about 15. I had difficulty reading it, because I at that age I wasn't to inclined to reading anything. I wasn't interested in books. When I was 18 I had read many areas in the Book of Mormon, and use to call up the Missionaries all the time to tell them what I had read and learned. I would ask them questions about things I didn't understand and share with them my thoughts. I became very excited, and felt really happy. Several months after turning 19 I had officially read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. Many times I had received guidance and comfort from reading its pages. Now for the past 6 years I have read it at least once a year. I know that Joseph Smith translated it because of the teachings and testimony of the Prophets contained within its pages. I am glad that after I was baptized I endured to desire to know more about the truth God has given through His Church. Everyday it is important to walk in faith and listen to what God has to say to you.

How I live my faith

The Sabbath day is one of my favorite days of the week. I attend all my class's and look forward to participate in the things I have learned on my own and listen to what others have to say about the Sunday school lesson. Living my faith is not easy. I continually have to make upward strides to live the Gospel. I believe when I make and keep my commitments to God, He is pleased with me. I read the scriptures, serve in my Church. I was a full-time missionary in Ventura California for two years. I share the joy I have received from living worthily before God, with friends at school and work. I look forward to the day when Christ appears again.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Romolo S.
We believe that Grace is Heavenly Father's gift through His Son so that all man kind may be saved, but you may ask, saved from what? Well death passes unto all men, so through the grace of the Resurrection of our Savior, all men will receive their mortal body again, but their body will be transformed into a body that will corrupt no more, and this allows us to be brought to our final Judgement before the Great Jehovah! The second part of our Savior's Grace allows us to be cleansed from sin through the Grace of His Atonement, if we follow Him. This would be called, "being saved from sin". In order to show that we follow Him we must keep his commandments. Without the Grace of Jesus, we would all be sent to our doom, good for nothing, but He has saved us from this terrible possible state! Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Romolo S.
Well to know our Father in Heaven is to do His will His work, and to communicate and to receive communication from Him. Our Father sent His Son Jesus Christ, and Jesus said " If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him" John 14:7. Nephi in the Book of Mormon says, " 'Follow thou me' Quoting Christ. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, can we follow Jesus save we shall be willing to keep the commandments of the Father?" 2Nephi 31:10. Jesus during is ministry said, "if... he... is of God, he hath seen the Father." John 6:46. Jesus also promised that we will know His commandments " If any man will do the Father's commandments, he shall know of the commandments, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." John 7:17. The Saviour Jesus never did His own will, He never spoke of himself, meaning spoke his own ideas. He learned his teachings from His Father, Our Father, who sent Him John 7:16. So anyone who proclaims to have the teachings of God, can learn if they be of God, by testing the teachings. I know that the teachings of this Church, have helped me to come to know Jesus and the Father. Prayer should be one of the first teachings to test. Try it, ask and thank our Father for things, and then close in the name of His Son's name. Show more Show less

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Romolo S.
We believe that aborting a possible birth of a baby is not pleasing with God, except in some rare circumstance, but even these circumstances their must be some serious prayer and consideration before going through with the abortion, such as in cases of rape. Having a baby is a wonderful gift given from God and is commanded only to be done between husband and wife lawfully married. Whether wedded or not, this baby body developing within the womb will actually house a eternal spirit daughter or son of God. The idea of taking away the body from this spirit, is parallel to separating the body and spirit of a person living in this World. It's is not our choice to do such an act, only God's will. What is the Relief Society?

Romolo S.
The Relief Society is a Womans organization within the Church. At Church they have there own sunday school meeting with sisters of the congretion about the sunday school lesson. It is a very social society as well with lots of activities in which women have fun and learn from eachother within the church. Women that are not members of the the Church are always invited to learn and have fun within this society as well. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Romolo S.
I was a missionary in Frazier Park California :) If [you] are scared to having the missionaries over, I was just as scared to be in [your] home and of what [you] may say to me :). Even though I was the guest I wanted to make [you] just as comfortable and was very grateful for [your] hospitality for letting me in. I taught things I had learned from the Bible and other scripture such as the Book of Mormon and other scripture. I tried to teach about the important items in which Jesus Christ tried to teach his disciples. I taught about how Joseph Smith was called to be a Prophet of Jesus Christ and how Jesus literally appeared to Joseph and others to bring back His teachings and clarified teachings to the earth. I wanted to hear your thoughts and feelings about what was taught. The desire I had for just before I would leave your home was that [you] would pray to ask God to know if what was taught was literally true, and that Jesus literally asked Joseph to be His Prophet back when that had happened. Also to ask if [you] could know if the Book of Mormon is the word of God just like if [you] are a believer in the Bible to be the word of God. After my first visit I would hope to come back and discuss more of the teachings I had learned and to listen to what you feel about them. My central thoughts were to help [you] discover more about or understand more about the Saviour Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Romolo S.
We believe in the Bible because like any "book" of scripture it testifies of Christ. However the Bible is not a singular book, but many book's of many prophets who have prophesied of the Saviour Jesus Christ's ministry, mission, life, and His dealings with us as Heavenly Father's children. The Holy Ghost will testify of the truthfulness of the Bible and will reveal that it is God's word. Show more Show less
