Hi I'm Braden Derek

About Me

My name is Braden. I'm an avid skier, rock-climber, and mountain biker. I'm going to college right now studying Business Management and I have the most wonderful woman in my life. I also really enjoy playing soccer, tennis, and ping pong. I grew up on a small farm and lived in the Netherlands for two years and grew to love the people and the culture there. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the LDS (or Mormon) church. My father converted to this faith when he was younger and that has always stood as an example to me. In my teen years, I wanted to know for myself if it is God's true church and if the Book of Mormon is true. I then decided to ask God in prayer. After a week and a half of prayer, the Lord revealed to me that the Book of Mormon is true by the power of the Holy Ghost. It was an answer that I haven't forgotten and one that I will never be able to deny.

How I live my faith

For me, living my faith is found in the simple things. Reading the scriptures daily, saying my prayers daily, going to church weekly, and doing what Jesus Christ would do by helping anybody I can. In my local congregation, I have the chance to serve fellow church members by visiting them and bringing them the good word of God.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Braden Derek
I had the chance to serve as a Mormon missionary and the reason that I went is simply because I know that it's true. I know that this is what Jesus Christ has given us in our time and because of my love for Him, I decided for myself to serve a mission to spread His name. I know that He lives and that He is the one who leads this church and leads His missionaries. His love and the love for our fellow beings is the greatest reason to serve. Show more Show less
