Hi I'm Ray

I've grown up in California and Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband. I am a father of 3 wonderful children. I am working full-time and attending school full-time. I am a hobbyist photographer. I drink milk instead of alcohol.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a home where LDS standards and teachings were taught. I attended church every Sunday. I was raised in California where there only a handful of us in school who were LDS. In elementary school it was not difficult to be LDS, nor was there any confusion about what I believed. I believed what my parents taught me. I attended High School in Utah where the minority was to NOT be LDS. I found it, again, easy to live the religion and do what my parents taught me. It was not until I graduated high school that I really found out who I was and what the church was all about. I found myself relying less and less on my parent's teachings and more and more on my own understanding. I found this difficult. I found that making my own decisions about church and worship were not as important as they once were. I needed to know for myself that being at church on Sunday and worshiping the savior. I found out the happiness the gospel brings as I continued with the strong friendships I had from school. I prayed to know how I should continue on in my life. I came to know and understand that I was blessed to have the life I had been given, with the parents that I had and being raised in the gospel.

How I live my faith

Today, I am handle the finances for our congregation. I ensure that the bishop is able to account for every cent that comes in or goes out. The Lord's money is sacred and I have the honor and privilege to ensure that it is used and collected properly. I attend the temple as often as I am able. I love my ancestors. I love learning about how they lived and the struggles in their lives. It is fascinating to me to understand how the Lord has had a hand in their lives as well as seeing the Lord's hand in my life as well.
