Hi I'm Jennifer M.

I am a mother of 1 girl and 4 boys, a wife to a wonderful husband. I am a clothing and gift store owner, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Who am I? I am an owner of a store that sells a little bit of everything. Which says alot about me. I love to learn how to do everything. My family says I am a Jane of all trades, a master of none. If I don't know how to do something I learn how to do it. I am a wife to a wonderful husband of 18 years. We met working for Anasazi Foundation. We camped and hiked with troubled youth 8 days at a time. I said if he could fall in love with me out there, than it was meant to be. We got married and had kids right away, I guess we needed another adventure. We were blessed with a beautiful boy, then a girl, and then another boy. After our third child was born I soon felt that I was floating through life. I wasn't really growing. I asked Heavenly Father to help me grown closer to him, to help me feel like I was progressing. A month later I found out, surprise, that we were expecting our 4th child. When our son was born something was wrong. He was in the last stages of liver failure and no one knew why. When it was determined that it was HLH it was too late and we lost him at 1 month old. Our hearts were broken but our faith strengthened us and kept us strong. Three years later we had another surprise and were pregnant again. Chances were slim that we would go through the same thing again so were were hopeful. Our 5th child was also born with the same genetic disorder but had a chance. We also lost him at 4 months old. Trial are about growing and we really grew.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but that doesn't mean that I didn't need to find out for myself if what I was being taught was true. I believe everyone should find out for themselves. God gave man the free agency to choose, every man. I knew that to be true so I took it to heart. I was not going to rely on my parents believing it anymore. If I was going to teach my kids and be responsible for what they learned I needed to know for my self. I did as others did. I prayed to my Father in Heaven with a earnest desire to know. I read The Book of Mormon from front to back with the specific purpose of finding out if it was true. The answer didn't come to me in soft and sweet. For me it was more like "Duh! Of course you know it is true! You really had to ask?" I actually started laughing. I rely on common sense and since then I have seen the common sense in the gospel. If Christ lived on the earth today what would his church look like, what would it do for others, what would be the sole mission statement of His church be. The answers to those are these, it would be set up like He set it up. Prophets, apostles and missionaries; temples, covenants, the sacrament; sacred ordinances like baptism by immersion and blessings performed by priesthood authority that was received through Him, not some school or organization. His church would do as he did when he lived here. It would feed the hungry, heal the sick, clothe the naked. Help, lift, and serve others for no other reason than they love Jesus Christ and God their Father, not for money. Totally volunteer. And last what would be the reason or the mission statement for this church? It would be this, "To bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." To make sure that we have every opportunity to choose Him, His way, and return and live with Him. To have experiences, to be tested and tried, to grow, to serve others, to learn and become as He is, and to live with him again. I know this is truth.

How I live my faith

I love children. I love teaching children about who they are, where they came from, about God and His Son Jesus Christ. I love to see their eyes when I teach them these things because they light up. They know it is truth and their spirits shine. I get to teach and oversee all the primary children in my ward. I believe the greatest calling one could have is to teach children especially about God and Jesus Christ. I love teaching my children the principles of Jesus Christ and hearing from others the good that my children do. That I believe is the greatest reward a parent can get. I love people in general. I love to help people. I love to serve. In my store I get a lot of chances to help people put together an outfit that makes them feel pretty or find a piece of jewelry that compliments them, or help them find a gift for a loved one.
