Hi I'm Patricia

About Me

My name is Patricia and I am from Brazil. I grew up in a beautiful city called Porto Alegre, playing every day on green Brazilian streets with my siblings, parents and friends covered by a shinny blue sky. I came to Utah to study Advertising at BYU, where I can have an excellent College/University experience, and then I can go back to my Country being able not only to contribute more for the business world but being able to help other people’s lives as well. I love summer time! I love wakeboarding and surfing, and I am down for any sports we can do in the water!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were already members of the church when I was born. I grew up attending the sunday meetings, and I was baptized when I was eight years old. I am Mormon because I have the testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of the latter-day saints is the church of Christ in the earth. I learned there is a reason for us to be here in the Earth, which gives me comfort and peace. I go to church every sunday because there I learn how to be a better person by developing my best qualities and seeking eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I am very grateful for my parents, who taught me so much through their love. Also I am very grateful for my siblings that support me in every aspect of my life, and even I live far from them we are still very close. I love my family very much and I live my faith by respecting them, honoring them, being thankful for them and by trying to be the best I can so I can live with them as a family forever. I live my faith by having good fiends, having fun with my friends, by cultivating good habits, studying and working. When I was 14 year-old I was called to serve in Primary, the organization that is responsible for the children on our Sunday meetings. During 9 years after then I served as a Primary Teacher, Primary Music Leader and Primary Counselor. I first thought I was supposed to teach little children, but I found out later that I was there because I had many things to learn from them. I live my faith by trying to be as those kids are and trying to be clean, honest and pure as a child. I live my faith by trying to be as Jesus was and is, by trying to follow his example and to love everyone, treating everyone kindly. I try to help other people, by going to church every Sunday and by partaking of the sacrament. Finally, I live my faith by remembering that I am a child of God and He has a plan for me here.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Patricia
Family is important to Mormons because they are the main point of our Father’s plan for us. They help us in our mortal lives. It is through our families that we can receive the most important blessings from our Father and it is with our families that we can live with our Father in heaven again. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Patricia
We believe in the Bible because it is a testament of our early fathers and an account of the life of our Savior Jesus Christ. It is another testament of our Redeemer. Show more Show less
