Hi I'm Roger

I'm from Arizona, I like to weld, I LOVE to help people and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, I'm Roger and I'm from the USA. I am a native of the deserts of Arizona and I love it there. I have grown up with parents that have been long time members of this church and I have 5 older siblings, all of whom are married with children. I really enjoy being with my family and doing things with them, especially with my nieces and nephews. Right now, I'm attending the university to become a nurse.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that was very active and still is very active in the church today. When I would go to church as a little kid, I could feel that was the right place to be. At 8 years old, I was baptised and from then on, I tried my best to follow the commandments and to do what Christ would do. As I entered my teen years, I began to know more and more that me being a member of this church was right and that it had helped me to know that Jesus Christ really is my Savior. Being around others that are trying just like I am has helped me to get thru the hard times. Even tho none of us are perfect, we can all look to Jesus Christ as the one to follow in all things. That's why I am a member of this church.

How I live my faith

As a believer in Jesus Christ, I make a daily effort to follow Him in what I do and say. Some days are better than others, in talking about how well I follow Christ, but I always try to help other people and to treat them in a way that I would want to be treated. I do my best to follow what the Holy Spirit prompts me to do and when I follow that, it always makes me feel so good.

What is the priesthood?

Roger
For me, the priesthood is something so special. It's the wonderful gift and power that God has given to His worthy children here on the earth so they can act in His name. When I think of the priesthood, I think of when Christ gave His apostles the power to do miracles, heal and preach the gospel. We share that power is on the earth again and that it's found in this church. It's been a great blessing in my families life. My dad has given me many blessings and I know that through those blessings, God helped me. Show more Show less

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Roger
Since this church is world-wide, it is split up into different size areas so the leaders of the church and be sure to help all the members and others that are not members of the church. One of the larger geographical areas of the church is called a stake. A stake is a group of separate congregations. Each congregation or a "ward" is made up of a good amount of members of the church and is split by boundaries. A "branch" is a smaller congregation that is usually found in more rural parts of the world. It has less members than a ward but is still part of a "stake." Show more Show less
