Hi I'm Chauncina

I’m a grandmother

About Me

I grew up in L.A., California. I am married and have five sons. I have been married for almost 40 years. I love to dance, and I am interested in doing research on my family line. I am a special education teacher, and Math Recovery Specialist. I teach math, reading, and writing. I teach on the reservation.

Why I am a Mormon

Many years ago as a young girl I had pondered how could I know which Church is true. I felt that out of so many different religions one must be true. It was very confusing, because they all taught out of the same Bible but they all interpreted things different. I went to my earthly father asked him. His answer did not satisfy my longing to know which church was true. I found a quit place to kneel and pray. I asked God, our Heavenly Father which Church is true. As a young child I always had a close relationship with God, and I had great faith that He would answer my question. After praying about it my answer came to me. The thought entered into my mind, “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints”. I knew I received my answer.

How I live my faith

I love music. I lead the music in church. I am not musically talented, but I love what I do. Members of our church are not always trained in the field that we work in, but we do it with love for our Savior and for those that we serve. I also am blessed to volunteer my time to work in the local Family History Center. There I get to help others to learn more about their ancestors and serve others. It is such a blessing to be able to be apart of our Saviors Church and volunteer my time to help others.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I know Mormonism is true because I prayed about it. Not very many people are blessed to have the kind of blessing that I had. Usually the way you can find out for yourself is to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it, and then when you have a warm feeling inside you too will know the truth. There is a promise and a power that comes from reading, pondering and praying about the Book of Mormon. In the Book of Mormon, found in Moroni 10: 4 it states, “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.” I encourage all to read this book and take the time to sincerely pray and ponder about it's truths, and you will be blessed with a feeling of peace, and an insurance of Heavenly Fathers love for you. He desires each of you to come unto Him, and learn more about these great truths. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
