Hi I'm Sarah

I love ice cream, running, and doing crossword puzzles. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from a small Midwest town. I like science, especially biology. I like running, reading, hiking, cooking, and having fun. I want to go skydiving. I am married, and I have a little girl.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager, I had a lot of questions about religion. I thought a lot about what others believe and why, and I felt I needed to know for myself what is true. I read the scriptures and prayed to know the truth. After months of praying I received an answer to my prayers through the Holy Spirit. I chose to follow Jesus Christ's example and follow His gospel. Since then I have continued to serve the Lord in many ways, even though it is sometimes difficult.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church, serving and teaching others about what I believe, praying, and studying the scriptures. I also help out by playing the piano at church so others can sing the hymns. I always try to live my faith by being a good example to others.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

A family can live together forever. A husband and wife who get married will only be together until death unless they have been sealed by someone who has the proper power and authority. This sealing lasts forever, even after death. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets in the Americas, similar to the ancient prophets who wrote the Bible in the Old World. The plates that these prophets wrote on were hidden in the ground until Joseph Smith was shown where they were. He removed them and translated them through the power of God so we can read them in our own language. Show more Show less

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Baptism is a commandment and a requirement to become a member of Jesus Christ's church. Jesus gave us the example by being baptized. We also should be baptized. When we are baptized we make promises to God that we will take upon us the name of Christ, keep the commandments, and always remember Him. In return, we receive a remission of our sins, meaning all our previous sins will be erased. We will also have the Holy Ghost to be with us. We must be baptized by someone who has the correct power and authority from God to do so. Children under eight years old don't need to be baptized because they are not yet old enough to understand right from wrong. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Mormons live like everyone else for the most part. We go to school and work, and on Sundays we go to church. We try to keep the commandments, including commandments about how to take care of ourselves, such as not drinking coffee, tea, or alcohol, living a chaste life, and serving others. We try to follow Jesus's example in the way we live. We know that relationships can last beyond this life, so we try to make our families stronger. Show more Show less
