Hi I'm Travis

I'm a husband and father of 4 children. Professionally I'm a managment consultant, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've got 4 young children (7, 5, 3, 1). Needless to say, my wife and I have got our hands full! I just graduated with an MBA in the spring of 2010 and started work as a management consultant. I love long talks with my daughter and wrestling with my boys. I like to play golf and foosball; I also enjoy flyfishing and waterskiing but with work and the kids, I rarely do much outside of family activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I believe that Jesus Christ really is directing this church through a prophet, just as he did in biblical times. I've prayed and asked God if this is His church, and if He wants me to be a member of it. I asked if the Book of Mormon is true, if Joseph Smith was a prophet. I felt like I recieved an answer through the wonderful feeling I felt, that of the Holy Ghost. I feel like God answered my prayers. I'm also a Mormon because it makes me happy, and it helps me be a better person. I've found direction in my life and strength and help to guide my family. I love this church!

How I live my faith

I teach the 12 & 13 year olds Sunday school lessons at church each Sunday. They are a fun group of kids and I love that assignment! I also am assigned to visit 2 families of our congregation each month. I share a short message about Christ during our visits and offer to assist them with in any way I can. I go to church meetings for 3 hours on Sundays and during the week I try to read from the scriptures each day. I begin each day with a prayer to my Heavenly Father and close each day in the same way. I feel like God does answer my prayers and I often consult with him regarding many of the bigger decisions in my life.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Travis
Absolutely! The Bible is definitely the word of God. I love reading in the Bible and each Sunday when I teach the youth class at church, I share scriptures from both the Old and New Testaments. We use the King James version of the Bible. Show more Show less
