Hi I'm Cherilyn

I'm working towards getting my graduate degree. I love to laugh and be silly and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am just a silly person and have a lot of different interests. I love to read all sorts of books and I love to learn!! I am a dog lover. I love watching meteor showers. I also love dancing sooo much! I just love having fun with my life! :) I served a mission in Pennsylvania. An experience that changed me for the rest of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because my parents are Mormon. Honestly though, the Gospel is so familiar to me. Every time I learn something new I feel like I knew it before. I stayed a member after I left home because of that. I am also a member because I know God is so real and He LOVES us! I don't know where I'd be without that.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday and I read from the Book of Mormon daily. I also stregthen my relationship with my Heavenly Father everyday through prayer. I need all of those things to keep going. I love the Gospel so much!!! It means everything to me. I want to do exactly what I feel that my Heavenly Father wants me to do.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Cherilyn
Mormons do not only help Mormons. We should (and most of us are) be willing to serve everybody and anybody we met. We should be doing all sorts of services from helping those in natural disasters to brightening someone's day by doing something simple. One of the greatest experiences I have had from servings others was one my friends and I went to a soup kitchen and fed the people there. During the dinner we started singing and the people there got excited and started clapping. It was awesome to be able to serve them in not only a physical way but other ways too. It was one of the things that has made me the happiest. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Cherilyn
Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. All males are asked to serve a mission if they are eligible. For girls it is an option. Though we are all asked to be missionaries by the way we live and be examples to those around us. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Cherilyn
We need a Savior because without Him we wouldn't be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father. Our Savior is who made it possible for us to be forgiven of our sins through His Atonement. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Cherilyn
The family is so important to Mormons because it is the center of God's plan for His children. It provides us with so many blessings and can give us the greatest happiness. I know personally that a life without my family would not be much of a life at all. I wouldn't be anywhere without the love and support each one of them has given me. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Cherilyn
Temples are used to perform sacred ordinances to bring LDS church members and those that have gone beyond the grave closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. In those sacred places our families are bound together for eternity by the sealing power. All the ordinances performed in the temple have that goal of being able to provide a family the opportunity at being a family forever and being able to live in God's presence with that way. What is the Relief Society?

Cherilyn
The Relief Society is the organization that is for women age 18 and older. It brings women closer together by the meetings held on Sunday and the other activities held outside of the Sunday meetings. These meeting strengthen the women and create friendships between women that may never have met otherwise. It also is the organization that helps families and individuals in great ways when there are times of need. The times of need do not need to be when someone is sick or in trouble, but they often bring meals to families with new babies. Show more Show less
