Hi I'm Chanda

I grew up in Georgia. I teach hot yoga. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am interested in health and well being. I am a part of a team of health coaches that teach people habits of health to eradicate obesity. I also enjoy yoga and have been teaching hot yoga since 2009. I love the outdoors: hiking, biking, backpacking, Ultimate Frisbee and playing most anything including tag.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon and always believed the things I was taught. I had lots of friends growing up that belonged to other faiths and challenged my beliefs, as well as family members that challenged my beliefs. I sought the truth myself and each time I did my decision to follow Christ as a Mormon was confirmed. At age 21, I decided to serve a mission for 18 months. The things I taught continued to be challenged. I remember vividly inviting an investigator to pray to know if Joseph Smith truly saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I cared deeply for this investigator and decided to take the invitation myself. I remember studying the scriptures one morning after praying to know if it was true and my heart was filled with such joy. I do know that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to the boy Joseph. Life has continued to bring many challenges I never dreamed of in my life. One of those is being single. I always imagined and planned for having a huge family with lots of children running around. With each unsuccessful relationship, I have wondered why that hasn't happened for me. I find strength in living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me. I know that His perfect plan will allow me all the righteous desires of my heart as I follow His commandments. Being a Mormon brings me joy. I learn more about my individual worth and divine destiny and that makes me happy!

How I live my faith

I help the young women ages 12-18 in my congregation set goals and complete them for their personal progress.
