Hi I'm Marcus

I serve in the Army. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a soldier, a husband and a father. I enjoy camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors. I studied Human Development in college, where I met my sweetheart. My wife and I loving raising our daughter and are anxiously awaiting another daughter early next year.

Why I am a Mormon

While I grew up in the Mormon faith, I had to discover the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ on my own. After struggling with a testimony for several years, I made the choice to seek to find my own personal witness. It didn't come easily or quickly, but the answer was firm and true. In addition to receiving my own personal testimony, I had the opportunity to serve for two years as a missionary, spreading the joy and truth that I had found. I have truly seen the gospel of Jesus Christ change peoples hearts and lives in a profound way. I know that all of God's children can again enjoy the fullness of His gospel today.

How I live my faith

I visit with members of the local congregation on a monthly basis to ensure that their spiritual and temporal needs are met. Additionally, I work with missionaries to share spiritual experiences with people interested in learning about our faith.

What is the priesthood?

Marcus
Simply, the priesthood is the power to act in God's name to bless His children. Similarly to Christ healing and blessing the sick and afflicted in the New Testament, worthy males members of the church can hold the priesthood and bless the lives of everyone around them. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Marcus
As part of God's love for us, He has commanded prophets throughout time to teach the gospel and record their dealings with Him. The Bible is a testament of His never-failing love for us and His desire to have all of us return to live with Him forever through our savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Marcus
Christ's church was established during His mortal ministry, but fell away after his departure from this life. The Church of Jesus Christ was restored in modern times through the prophet Joseph Smith, and distinguished from the former church as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Latter-day refers to our day, and saints are members of the church. The Church was formally organized on 6 April 1830 and continues to flourish throughout the world. Show more Show less
