Hi I'm Jasmine

I'm a convert and dealing with life's up's and down's.

About Me

I am a single mother of two beautiful girls, a jack of all trade and very down to earth. I have studied many dance forms, from ballet to bellydancing. I am very creative and love to express myself through my creativity. I work as a one on one teacher aide and i am planning to go back to school for education. I am all about bettering myself, by learning whatever I can learn. I enjoy being around my family and friends and positive people. You can find me walking along the street or by the waterfornt. I love every different kind of music and i have studied music as well.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was twelve I would come to the mormon church with my best friend for young women. I wanted to get baptized so i can recieve my youn women medalions but i couldn't. As I got older, I went on a spiritual quest looking for the religion that fits me. I learned about all the major religions and none of them fit for me. Now that i am a mother, single at that, I wanted to belong to something were they can instill the right morals for my daughters. I wanted a place were they can feel happy and that they belong, that they are worth something. I wanted them to perseve themselves, learn to love people and the gospel like i do. I want them to be eternal, I want them to be sealed and be with their families forever. I wanted them to know that no matter what they are loved, and families can be together forever. They can enjoy being the young ladies that they are and not rush into things. Through Learning about the book of mormon, doctrine and covenants, I was able to make changes in my like that has blessed me. My testimony grows each day. Here is a parable I came up with.. called the Parable of the Tree "Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves—It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me. " Alma chapter 32: 28 For three years, I have been taking care of a Jasmine plant. I was starting to give up because the leaves started to fall, parts of the plant was dying and it seems as though i would never get those beautiful flowers to emerge. I tended to the plant, as weeks turns to months, months than turned to years, never giving up on the one day of having those flowers blossom. There were moments were I wanted to lose hope in it, but yet there was a part of me that wouldn't do that. I was determinded to get my flowers. After three years, the fruits of my small labor paided off, when i was in the kitchen i caught a strong scent of Jasmine. My eyes opened wide when i realised this, and i looked to my window sill and there behold a beautiful Jasmine flower opened itself to grace the mid day light. My heart lept for joy to finally see this, and with such an excitment, i ran to show it to my daughters and mother. In the verse above, comparing faith to a seed and feeling how true it is that the seed is good. My short story, shows how with patiences, determination, and faith you can see and grow through anything. When you learn about the faith, its starts off as something small, you have to nurture it, care for it, give it everything it needs for it grow. Through this process, you will learn many things, how true the word is, how true there is a higherpower, and the more you seek out the knowledge the more your spiritual seedling will grow. You will gain a powerful testomony to it, as I have. How would you know if this spiritual seed is true? Because its a very light thing, its good. Its something inside that seems to want to brust from your chest. Its an energy that starts to build up inside of you, the more you learn, the more you read, the more answers you get, you will find it swelling more to the point you want to share with others. Does this mean once you feel it,it stops growing? Like a tree, It keeps growing and growing, the only way it stops is if its cut down, but even than when the stump remains, there is still the lingering roots, and a chance for new branches to emerge. So if for whatever reason you loose faith, it will only be for a while. Why do I say this? like the stump i mentioned befored the roots are still there and can still bring life. You will find your way back, and when that sapling starts to grow your faith will be renewed. I have experianced this, and I am sure we all have. We loose faith because of lifes complications. We feels we are unworthy, we feel that because of this thing that has cut our spiritual tree down, that we can never rise. I say to you brothers and sisters, You will still rise, your faith will grow once more. And when the new sapling grows it would be that much stronger than ever because of the strong roots that remain. Large tree that lives in the emergent layer, the roots are fortified with liana, vines that makes the base of the tree that much stronger. Consider your testomony, your life experiences are your Liana, the vines that will hold your sapling up strong, to face any time of storm or adversary, that comes your way. Have patiances, be deligent in your faith, and your spiritual seed will grow, and you will be able to pluck from it the fruits and you won't ever go hungrey again, this i promise you my brothers and sisters.

How I live my faith

I am very active with my ward which is Jersey City ward 1, its a spanish ward. I am the young women advisor, a calling that i have always wanted was to work with the young women. I am all about taking what i have learned and sharing it with the youth, I like to tell them the real truth about things that are out there so that they won't make any mistakes. Whenever there is a ward activity I am there helping out, if its setting up, making decorations or acting in it I am there. With the Youth we plan many activities, activities that can help them learn, and apply in their every day life. I like to empower todays youth to do the right, to avoid a few things.
