Hi I'm Brad

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and I currently live in Helena, MT. After graduating high school, I served as a full-time missionary in the Peru Lima East mission. Shortly after returning from my mission, I enlisted in the US Coast Guard. I completed basic training in Cape May, NJ and then I was stationed aboard a polar icebreaker based out of Seattle, WA. I would later live and receive training in Port Angeles, WA, Tulsa, OK, and Elizabeth City, NC. Eventually, I would be stationed near Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; I lived there for about four years, and I still miss the Puerto Rican weather. After 6 years in the Coast Guard, I returned to Idaho to attend school at Boise State University and graduated with a B.S. in political science. I also started working at the Boise Public Library. I am currently seeking my Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. Most importantly, I am married and have two sons -- a two year old and a newborn.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. Reading the Book of Mormon strengthens my testimony of the Holy Bible. I also believe that Joseph Smith Jr. was called to be a prophet of God. Joseph Smith's calling and the Book of Mormon bring additional light and truth about our Savior Jesus Christ. Like everyone, I have struggles in life, but the teachings of Christ and knowledge of his sacrifice and His grace help me have a positive outlook and perspective that allow me to live with and overcome my struggles and challenges. I believe God loves me and everyone else. I also believe that He wants us to serve one another. Membership in the Church allows me to try and serve others as I try to exercise my faith in Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by serving others. I currently serve in my ward's Sunday School organization helping people learn about the life of Jesus Christ and other stories from the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. My faith in Christ helps me to become a better person, and I am always trying to live and do the things that He would have me do. From the scriptures, we are able to learn about Christ's example, and He is the perfect guide or example for us as we live our lives.
