Hi I'm Ginney

I grew up in Texas. I love being a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Mom to six children ages 1-12. I finished my computer science degree right before my first child was born. I enjoy putting it to good use teaching my children. My husband and I love to read and play games. We are just starting to learn how to camp with our big family!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. Around the age of 14, I began to want to know for myself if what I'd been taught was true. I read from the Doctrine and Covenants for a scripture study class. I remember praying and having such a good feeling and confirmation that I was doing what was right and that what I was reading was from God. I have prayed many times with questions and my faith and knowledge have increased over and over. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I am so grateful that even though we are not perfect, He has given us a way to return to our Father in Heaven through repentance. Knowing that has blessed my life and given me hope. He helps me to be a better mother and to pull through the hardest times without fail. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I teach my children about Jesus Christ and how much their Heavenly Father loves them. I serve in the church by helping to coordinate organized visits to all the women members in the area. This helps us find ways to help each other and become friends.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Ginney
We like to dress in what we call "Sunday Best" for church. It isn't flashy or a fashion show, but we try to dress nicely to show respect for Heavenly Father. That means wearing our best, rather than trying to dress up as nicely as someone else. My husband wears a white shirt and tie with slacks. When the weather is cool enough, he prefers to wear his suit. I usually wear a skirt or a dress. We celebrate many Holidays. Some are sacred to us like Christmas and Easter, others are just for fun to mark the time of the year or comemmorate events. Show more Show less
