Hi I'm Tyler

About Me

I think that my number one interest is my family. I have a beautiful wife, two beautiful daughters, and a boy the way. I believe that everything else I do stems from a love of my family and a desire to love and help them. The Gospel gives me direction and ideals to strive for. Working as a physical therapist provides a living sufficient for our needs. Even hobbies like woodworking, camping, hiking, photography, and reading are fun ways to serve and spend time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but there definitely came a time when I had to know for myself. It started when I was eight. I knew then that God loved me, I knew that my Savior had suffered for my sins. I believed the Book of Mormon was the word of God and I believed that Joseph Smith was a prophet. Since that time my belief in these things has only been strengthened. God does love us and He sent His Son. Our Savior organized a church in His time and He has organized a church in our time. His church The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is directed by him and teaches his gospel.

How I live my faith

Our church is chartered through the Boy Scouts of America. I am able to work with 11 year old boys through the scouting program. Boys also have an opportunity to work on their Duty to God award through scouting. The Duty to God award is a religious award specific to scouts who are also members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I also have the opportunity to teach a lesson once a month on a Sunday. More than this my faith is what drives everything I do. My faith is the lens through which I view everything.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The Church does not support political parties. The church does encourage us to be civically active and be judicious with our right to vote. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We have all made mistakes, we have all felt guilt and remorse for things we have done wrong. Jesus Christ will replace guilt with peace and remorse with true happiness. He suffered for our mistakes so we wouldn't have to. We simply need to follow him. Show more Show less
