Hi I'm Neal Harmon

Idaho farm boy. Happily married. Father/6. Entrepreneur. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of six and very happy entrepreneur. I love to read but sometimes let starting companies get in the way of my reading. I love to play basketball at 6am. Sometimes I get together complete strangers just to play basketball. I've had many ups and downs in life. A favorite quote of mine... “You have to honor failure because failure is just the negative space around success." - Randy Nelson, Pixar A leader in the Church also once told me, "you've never failed til you quit." And so I don't quit. I served a mission in Mexico for a two years (no, not as a job…as a volunteer…I saved half the money myself and my grandfather helped pay the other half). The Mexican people took such great care of me.

Why I am a Mormon

First, I was born into a good family who taught me about the gospel. My Mother's faith had a huge impact on my life. I saw her go through great difficulties and the way she lived her life, over the years, helped me to see the fruits of living the gospel. Growing up, I found that living what my parents taught helped rid me of feelings of anger or inferiority. I changed from a feisty boy to some one who wanted to make good choices in life. I learned that forgiveness of the wrongs of others means healing and freedom in my own life.

How I live my faith

I help teach the men in my neighborhood about living the gospel in our families. I also visit two specific families (newlyweds and a family with three growing boys) at least once a month to make sure they're doing ok. Prayer and the scriptures provide the greatest source guidance in all of my life. I was married to a wonderful girl from the other side of the snake river. We were married in the Temple. While I leave much to be desired, I try to think about my wife's needs before my own. The way she responds to me always lifts me. She does a lot better job of thinking of my needs before her own. Our marriage brings a lot of joy to my life in spite of the difficulties of life.

What is faith?

Neal Harmon
For me, faith means that I believe in something that I can't see and I demonstrate my belief by changing my life to match what I say I believe. For example, I haven't physically met Jesus, but I believe that my life will be better if I follow His example and teachings. When I do things for other people (like service for my wife, or for people in my community), I follow Christ's example. To the level I act, I have faith in Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
