Hi I'm Lisa

About Me

My name is Lisa and I am a stay at home mom. I enjoy knitting, reading, and traveling. I like learning about other people and how their lives are different and similar to my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I first began attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with my mom and older sister when i was a little girl. I remember going to church and learning and singing about God and Jesus Christ. Throughout high school, I continued to attend church with my family. As high school was coming to an end, I faced many important decisions in my life involving college, where to live, jobs, etc. At this time in my life, I was really searching to know if the things I was taught all my life were really true. I was also seeking direction from God to help me make these life changing decisions. I prayed sincerely to God with an open heart every morning and night to help me know if the teachings of the gospel were true and to help me in making these important decisions. After much prayer, I remember feeling a sense of calm and love; when I prayed, I knew God was listening to what I had to say and that he cared for me. It became easier to make decisions about college, etc. when I opened my heart to God and let him truly be part of my life. I am mormon because God is always a constant in my life. No matter what else happens, he is always there for me. I can always pray and feel his love and comfort. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Lord's church, has helped me learn to know him better and has helped me to learn to know myself better. It teaches me good values and the importance of families. I have always been happiest when I've had the Gospel of Christ in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example of what I preach. I can tell someone that I am Mormon and I can tell someone that I believe in Christ, but the only way to truly show people my faith is through my actions. I love to attend my church meetings and learn of Jesus Christ and his Gospel. I am actively involved in the visiting teaching program of the church, where I visit a handful of women each month. Together we share messages focused on Christ and how to apply gospel principles in our daily lives. We share our struggles and triumphs and become close friends as we learn and grow together.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Lisa
Family is so important to Mormons because we believe that family relationships can last for eternity. While good friends may come and go, I believe that my family with be with me always, even after I die. Families lift each other in times of sorrow and are always there to lend a helping hand.
