Hi I'm Joy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in college and studying business. When I am not found studying, I am at a basketball game, playing some musical instrument, or with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Have you ever felt inadequate, depressed, or forsaken? I have. Months ago, I was working in a chemical laboratory when a dangerous chemical was spilled. By accident, I was left in the laboratory and exposed to the chemical for two hours. For the next few weeks, I found myself having multiple x-rays and doctor visits. It was discovered that the chemical had burned my lungs and caused me to go in to a deep depression. I found myself in pain emotionally and physically for weeks on end. One night, when I was in a lot of pain, I felt like there was no healing in sight for me. Then, I thought of my Savior Jesus Christ and of His Atonement. He had experienced what I was experiencing, and I knew that by trusting and looking toward Him I would have the strength I would need. I looked to my Savior by reading the Book of Mormon, going to church on Sundays, and doing my best to serve others. I truly felt the peace and blessings of the Atonement as I came unto Him. To this day, I am not completely healed and perhaps this is a condition I will have most of my life, but I have found strength by coming to Him. I know that if He is able to help me, He is able to help anyone that comes to Him.

How I live my faith

I feel that everything I do should be a reflection of the Savior and do my best to help others feel of their Heavenly Father's love for them. I have been blessed to serve in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a teacher, organist, leader, and missionary.

In whom should we have faith?

Joy
We should have faith in our Savior Jesus Christ because He has experienced every pain, sin, and sorrow we have suffered and knows how to help us overcome these difficulties. It is through His love that we can experience hope, healing, and happiness. Show more Show less
