Hi I'm Mary Elizabeth

About Me

I am a mother to four great kids, 3 boys and 1 girl. I have been married to my husband for almost 16 years. I enjoy lots of musical activities. I am trying to decide right now what to go to college for. My youngest just started school and now that I am home alone I want to finish up my education. My family is the most important part of my life. I enjoy spending time with them by either reading books, playing games, or watching movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church. All of my early memories are of the gospel. I was baptized when I was eight years old. I can remember when I received the gift of the Holy Ghost how wonderful I felt. It truly felt as if something poured into my body. I never had a moment of doubt about anything that I had been taught. But when I was about 18 years old, I really had to search and gain that testimony for myself. I had always relied upon my parents and teachers at church for answers. It is not that I didn't believe I just needed to find it out on my own. And when I did, it was as if I was on fire. I can honestly say that I have never doubted that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God or that the Book of Mormon was true. I truly believe with all of my heart, might, mind, and soul that it is true. Heavenly Father still speaks to his children today with a prophet, President Thomas Monson. I feel it with every breath I take.

How I live my faith

I am over the women's organization in church. This year we have decided to focus our attention on service. We decided to start our year off with learning how to crochet. We took this newfound knowledge and put it to good use. In three months, we have made over 60 hats for babies in the hospital. Next, we are planning on making lap blankets for the nursing home. I am so very thankful for my calling in church. It is wonderful to work with such lovely ladies. We are all very close with one another.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Mary Elizabeth
Our purpose on this earth is to learn and grow. Heavenly Father sent us here to have a free agency. He wants us to be like him and to live so that we can return to him someday. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Mary Elizabeth
Yes, with all my heart I truly believe that a husband and wife can be together forever. My husband and I will be sealed in the temple together on July 3. I am so excited for this day. I was sealed to my parents when I was 5 years old. I can still remember how special that day was. This is one of the best things that Heavenly Father has promised us. That we will get to be with our families after we leave this existence. As long as we are sealed in the temple and obey the commandments and endure to the end. I am grateful for this promise.
