Hi I'm Tylor James

I love music. I also love sushi. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a student at University, and intend on going back. Of course I'm undecided yet on what I'll study. But I really have a passion for music. I write music and play live with a band. I have just finished a mission for The Church, I served in British Columbia for two years. I anticipate going back to school and continuing to make music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be raised in the Church by my parents. I've also been fortunate to become well acquainted with the other religions of the world by having very close friends of other faiths. As I grew up in the Church it was always a way of life, but I never made the choice to fully apply myself until I was about 18. I was challenged by a Bishop of mine to read a chapter in the Book of Mormon every day, and I took it seriously. As I did that, the Spirit of the Lord began to enter my life, and I became converted to Christ. I learned, by many long nights in prayer, what it really is to come unto Christ and be healed. I also have a strong faith in the Restoration of Christ's Gospel to the earth because I've received a sure witness that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. I've seen miracles. Especially since I've been in the Lord's full time service for two years.

How I live my faith

Currently I am living my faith at a very intense amount. I am finishing up a full-time mission for the Lord and His Church. I was called to be a missionary a little over two years ago. I spend all day going about teaching people about the Restoration of the Gospel and sharing what has converted me. It is very rewarding. I had to save up as much money as I could to support myself, and my family is helping me as well. When I return home, I anticipate living my faith on a daily basis, as I recognize it as a way of life.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Tylor James
I made the personal choice to serve a mission because of my love for Jesus Christ and everything that He has done for me. I read the Book of Mormon and it totally changed my life and the way I view my decisions, and my behavior. It is hard to describe but when you feel the Love of God in your life, it is automatically accompanied with the desire to share it with others. I served a full time mission so that others might draw closer to Christ through the message of the Restoration of the Gospel as I have. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Tylor James
Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. In the year 1820 he prayed to know which Church to join. During this prayer he was visited by the Father and the Son and was answered that he must join none of them. The fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was not on the earth, it had been lost during apostasy. Ever wonder why there are so many Churches? He was the Prophet through whom the fullness of the Gospel was Restored to the Earth. Jesus Christ spoke directly to Joseph throughout his life. The same as he did with Paul, and Peter, and any other true prophet of God. Show more Show less
